They call it, "Do well." If your work is published (and hyped) by a "reputable" publisher, you can be almost absolutely sure that it's vacuous, avaricious shit. The only writing that gets published (with rare exceptions) is writing that an agent, editor and publisher all agree will make money. The more it's rejected, the better it gets. In the last sixty years, my writing has been "rejected" in one way or another almost a million times. Pretty soon I'll do the other 5,000 or so thought-executing simpletons on my little lists.
Imagine how good the other 34 must be! Kick off your shoes, lean back and watch the 11-hour audio book, the 13-hour multimedia video book or the best 36-hour movie ever made. Here's my LEAST favorite chapter of the VIDEO book: You can READ, WATCH and/or LISTEN to all 35 chapters here: Each chapter is better than most whole books. It's also an annotated, multimedia VIDEO book (the only one ever made), an authentic narrative nonfiction take on the decade of the sixties in San Francisco (along with a cursory view of the rest of the last half of the 20th century), a novel, a biography, pure poetry, etc. "GINNY GOOD is easily one of the ten best books published anywhere in the world so far this century. Now I'm doing Film School Boys and Girls. I sent a version of this e-mail to around 10,000 two-bit punks who purport to promote good books. I've also finished updating Propagandaville, Newspapers, Booksellers, Book Prizes, Creative Writing Boys and Girls and Journalism School Boys and Girls. I added a multimedia audio/video book and a voice only audio/video book. Note: If you send me an e-mail from a Gmail account, I can't answer it because Google is a dick.
